Current research indicates that there are more than 415,000 children in the US foster care system. Approximately 30% of these children are eligible for adoption. In His Hands supports foster care and domestic adoption in 3 ways:
We host regular meetings and exhibit at local conferences to spread awareness of the orphan crisis that impacts our local communities, and to serve as a resource for families who are considering foster care or domestic adoption.
We provide grants to assist families that have begun the adoption process, but are struggling to cover the cost. Preference is awarded to families adopting hard-to-place children, such as those with special medical needs, birth defects, and sibling groups.
We provide practical support by holding annual supply drives for kids in the US foster care system. Book bags, toothbrushes, toothpaste, hair brushes, soap, shampoo, snacks, small stuffed animals and more are donated to foster children in our local communities.
